ACTION ALERT!

Throughout September 2025, we encourage our members to write emails to our federal delegation expressing the importance of federal funding to the University of Alaska system. Research funding from agencies such as the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, NASA, National Endowment for the Humanities is threatened by current federal budget proposals. Title III grants to Alaska Native-serving institutions were also gutted with no warning. Whether or not you directly depend on federal funding for your paycheck, the federal cuts being proposed will affect every single UA employee and student one way or another. Write to Senators Murkowski and Sullivan, and Representative Begich, today! Contact our UNAC office for help.

Kill the Cuts to Protect Federal Funding!

The Federal funding threats are coming from every direction this fall. In anticipation of Congress voting on spending budgets by October 1, 2025, UNAC is co-hosting a Kill the Cuts Town Hall with the graduate student union, AGWA/UAW, and the new staff organization, CAUSE/UAW. UNAC is also running a complementary letter writing campaign to our federal delegation. Send your letters today if you haven't already!
