United Academics AAUP/AFT Local 4996 represents all non-adjunct faculty and post docs working for the University of Alaska system. We defend and welcome diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility throughout the student body and workforce of the University of Alaska system.
Our union’s strength stems from our diverse membership–UA faculty and post doctoral fellows. When UA faculty and post docs support United Academics by paying dues, UNAC grows stronger. When members pay dues AND respond to UNAC’s action alerts, our union grows even stronger.
Maintaining and strengthening our union makes it possible to continue not only to protect what’s been won in the past, but to improve job security, workload equity, and competitive compensation into the future.
