On April 12, 2025, our United Academics Representative Assembly passed the following motion in support of legislation that would add a faculty member to the UA Board of Regents:  

In the interest of improving communication, University governance, and accountability, United Academics supports establishing a faculty regent position on the University of Alaska Board of Regents and supports HB10 and SB118.

UNAC members did not support the Board of Regents' hasty decision to ban public-facing mention of diversity, equity, inclusion, and "other associated terms." On March 10, 2025, United Academics leadership delivered a petition to the University of Alaska Board of Regents in response to their February 21, 2025 anti-DEI Motion. Our petition was signed by 356 United Academics members. To date, no board member has responded to the petition.
